As Thailand navigates the challenges of the digital economy, higher education institutions are increasingly compelled to undertake systemic transformation to prepare graduates for employment in AI-integrated environments. This study proposes an AI-driven institutional transformation model specifically tailored to the context of Thai universities. The study was conducted with three main objectives: (1) to synthesize the core components of the model, (2) to develop and validate the proposed model, and (3) to assess its applicability level. A mixed-methods research design was employed to ensure both conceptual rigor and contextual relevance. The research procedure comprised three phases: (1) model synthesis, (2) model development and validation, and (3) model evaluation. The findings revealed that the 3D-POD Model integrates three dimensions: 1) Strategic domains—People, Pedagogy, Process, Platform, and Pathway; 2) Operational phases—Origin, Operation, Output, Outcome, and Optimization; and 3) Digital maturity—Digital Passive, Digitization, Digitalization, Digital Transition, and Digital Transformation. Collectively, these dimensions form a structured matrix (5 Strategic × 5 Operational × 5 Maturity Levels) that provides a practical lens for diagnosing, developing, and enhancing AI-driven transformation in higher education. Quantitative validation confirmed the model’s high content validity and practical applicability. The 3D-POD Model offers a strategic pathway for AI-driven institutional transformation and enhanced graduate employability in Thailand. The model may also serve as a reference for future digital intervention initiatives led by key stakeholders.
The emergence and rapid development of generative AI such as ChatGPT, presents new opportunities and challenges for primary school English listening and speaking learning. It is of great significance to study the roles and collaborative activities among teachers, students, and machines in primary school English listening and speaking learning, to effectively improve students' English listening and speaking ability. This study pointed out the problems in primary school English listening and speaking learning such as vague learning objectives, unclear human-machine collaboration relationship, and lack of student-centered activity design. This study used the methods of literature research, theoretical deduction, and quasi-experiment. It clarified the elements of primary school students' English listening and speaking ability and developed a measurement scale. Based on the theories of second language acquisition and human-machine collaborative learning, this study concluded the general process of primary school English listening and speaking learning, explained the human-machine collaboration mechanism, then conducted a framework for designing human-machine collaborative learning activities to enhance primary school students' listening and speaking ability. Using the design framework, 40 primary school students from GZ City underwent English listening and speaking learning. The results showed that their listening and speaking ability and overall class performance had significantly improved. The findings from this study may provide instructional design guidance and practical references for enhancing primary school English listening and speaking learning.
The application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in education has grown significantly, aiming to enhance teacher-student interactions, learning outcomes, and instructional experiences. Digital storytelling (DST) serves as a critical pedagogical tool in teaching and learning, and proficiency in DST design has become an essential skill for learners. However, limited research exists on applying GAI in the context of DST design. This study explored university students' attitudes toward using GAI technology in higher education, focusing on their cognition, willingness to use, and concerns about DST creation. A total of 78 undergraduate students majoring in educational technology participated in an 18-week course on DST creation. The course incorporated GAI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Runway to accomplish key tasks related DST tasks. After completing the course, participants completed a questionnaire assessing their perceptions of using GAI tools in DST creation. Results indicated that students generally held positive attitudes toward the application of GAI tools. Cognitively, participants not only recognized the diverse functionalities of GAI but also demonstrated an awareness of its limitations. In terms of willingness, students were inclined to support using GAI tools to assist in completing work-related tasks. However, concerns focused on data privacy and security, and the risk of over-reliance on GAI tools. By examining the use of GAI tools in DST design, this study offers practical guidance for leveraging GAI tools in DST projects and insights into students' perceptions. These findings provide valuable implications for future technological innovations involving GAI in educational contexts.
Children with cerebral palsy often face challenges related to muscle stiffness and limited movement control, which restrict their ability to engage in daily activities and can lead to a lack of motivation in repetitive physical therapy exercises. This research focuses on developing a semi-automatic roboticassisted software program to support upper limb muscle rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy, integrating gaming technology to enhance engagement and enjoyment. By transforming therapy into a game-like experience, the program encourages children to perform physical therapy exercises consistently and more effectively. The developed program includes both 2D and 3D game formats. The 2D game is designed for simplicity and ease of use, making it suitable for the initial stages of therapy. In contrast, the 3D game leverages VR technology to provide an immersive experience, fostering greater patient engagement. The games are designed to involve movements of the arms and hands to collect objects or avoid obstacles, offering a fun and challenging way to enhance motor skills and improve muscle functionality over time. This study introduces a novel approach to cerebral palsy rehabilitation and demonstrates the potential of gaming technology in medical and therapeutic contexts. By merging the enjoyment of gameplay with therapeutic exercises, this approach helps to reduce stress, increase adherence to therapy routines, and ultimately improve the quality of life for pediatric cerebral palsy patients in a sustainable way.
This study explores teacher agency and strategies for extending teacher agency to meet the challenges brought about by the rapid Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements. It adopts the concept of teacher agency, rather than teacher competency, to explore the complexities of teacher professional development. It builds upon the growing body of research that explores teacher agency through a systems approach, emphasizing the interdependent, interactive and evolving nature of teacher agency. Using the AI competency framework proposed by UNESCO as a foundation, this research investigates the current state of AIempowered teaching practices in vocational colleges and schools in China. By analyzing empirical data from a survey, it provides insights into how teachers engage with AI technologies at different agency levels-ranging from basic adoption to pedagogical innovation and leadership in shaping AI-empowered education. The study underscores the importance of a human-centered mindset to AI in education, an approach which ensures that teachers retain agency while leveraging AI to innovate students' learning experience and teachers' life-long professional development. Based on its findings, the study proposes strategies for expanding teacher agency at various stages of growth. These include equipping educators with AI knowledge and application skills, fostering awareness of the ethical and sociocultural implications of AI, deepening pedagogical strategies for meaningful AI integration, and promoting continuous professional development through AI-powered tools.
