The supply chain network design not only assists organizations production process (e.g.,plan, control and execute a product’s flow) but also ensure what is the growing need for companies in a longterm. This paper develops a three-echelon supply chain network problem including multiple plants, multiple distributors, and multiple retailers with amulti-mode demand satisfaction policy inside of production planning and maintenance. The problem is formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming model. Because of its NP-hardness, three meta-heuristic algorithms(i.e., tabu search, harmony search and genetic algorithm) are used to solve the given problem. Also, theTaguchi method is used to choose the best levels of the parameters of the proposedmeta-heuristic algorithms. The results show that HS has abetter solution quality than two other algorithms.
Availability and reliability of a manufacturing system are the most common indicators in the reliability engineering area to assess the quality and on-time deliveries of the products they produce. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the availability, reliability. failure metrics such as MTBF and MTTF, and also steady-state availability of a cooking oilproduction line using a Markov approach. The product line works in three consecutive shifts 24 hours a day, for which five main subsystems are identified for the analysis. The results show that the first shift has the best performance in terms of reliability while the second shift has the worst performance. To improve the reliability of the production line, a corrective maintenance policy is used. First, the critical components of the subsystems are identified using the Pareto charts, and then, by increasing the repair rates, the availability of the production line in all three shifts is increased.
In developing countries, whereas the urban bus network is a major part of public transportation system, it is necessary to try to find the best design and routing for bus network. Optimum design of school bus routes is very important. Non-optimal solutions for this problem may increase traveling time, fuel consumption, and depreciation rate of the fleet. A new bus routing problem is presented in this study. A multi-objective mixed integer model is proposed to handle the associated problem. Minimization of transportation cost as well as traveling time is the main objectives. The main contributions of this paper are considering gender separation as well as mixed-loading properties in the school bus routing problem. Moreover, special and handicapped students are considered in this problem. The proposed model is applied in a real case study including 4 schools in Tehran. The results indicate the efficiency of the proposed model in comparison with the existing system. This comparison shows that the students’ travelling time is reduced by 28% for Peyvand middle smart school, 24% for Tehran international school, 13% for Hemmat School and 21% for Nikan High school. A customized Genetic Algorithm (GA) is proposed to solve the model. Penalty functions are used to handle the several constraints of the problem in Genetic Algorithm. The results justify the applicability and efficacy of the both proposed model and solution approach.
The article is dedicated to the analysis of the transformation of the worker’s competencies model in the Economy 4.0 conditions, to the identification of the causes for the increase of the labor redundancy and mismatch on the labor market. The authors identified key competencies that are important for Ukrainian businesses and made a forecast of required competencies for 2030. The analysis of the compliance of training programs of educational institutions with market requirements has practical value. The authors also proposed the roadmap for coordination of the program of the human resource manager competencies development. An important result came out to be the developed matrix of the necessary level of development of staff competencies for various divisions of the company depending on the decision-making center.
Two different bullwhip effects with equal scores may have different sensitivities and production patterns. As a result, the difference between these two seemingly equal scores has been ignored in previous methods (such as frequency response and moving average). So, the present study constructs a model of Inverse Network Data Envelopment Analysis, to introduce the relative and interval scores of the bullwhip effect magnitude, when a series of uncertain demands are made in a specific time interval. In the first stage of the proposed network, the uncertain demands and the forecasted uncertain data are regarded respectively as the model’s inputs and outputs. These output data constitute the intermediate variables and consequently the inputs of the second stage of the study model. In the second stage, after considering the ordering policies, the uncertain orders are sent. Due to utilizing both the optimistic and pessimistic perspectives, the study methodology includes an interval value for measuring the bullwhip effect with relative attitude. In the optimistic perspective, the analyzed decision making unit has the optimal status in comparison with other decision making units. In the pessimistic perspective, the analyzed decision making unit has the worst status in comparison with other decision making units. The results show that time is an unfair factor in the size of the bullwhip effect. The impact of uncertainties on the bullwhip effect in the demand forecasting stage is greater than the ordering stage. According to the research findings, cross-sectional planning is possible at different times according to different conditions. Therefore, using the results of the research, a fair score of the bullwhip effect can be obtained by considering all perspectives.
