Introduction. Nurses/technicians make up almost a one half of all health workers in the health care system. Nursing care represents more than 70% of all procedures with patients during hospital treatment. Nurses are equal members of the healthcare team, but in everyday practice they often experience the opposite. Social recognition of professional nursing is a long-term process. The goal of this research was to assess the place and role of the nurse-technician in the health team in the current conditions of surgical work and communication. Respondents and methods. The paper presents the results obtained by surveying doctors, nurses/technicians and patients from two surgical clinics in University Clinical center in Republic of Srpska. 62 doctors, 129 nurses-technicians and 199 patients were surveyed in the period from January until April 2022. Data are obtained from three types of anonymous questionnaires that are adapted for this specific research objective. Results. Descriptive statistical analysis using the SPSS 24 program was applied in the paper. Research has shown that the majority of doctors have a satisfactory cooperation with the nurses, respecting their suggestions and remarks regarding the health care of patients. Also, nurses have a professional relationship with doctors, which together, as team members, leaves a positive impression on patients. Conclusion. The research showed that the profession of nurse/ technician is valued in the healthcare team and that it is an irreplaceable member of the healthcare team, whose role is crucial in the process of healthcare treatment of the patient. From the doctor's point of view, the nurse/technician is their key collaborator in the process of health care and patient care. The cooperation between doctors and nurses/technicians is good and professional, and the doctors respect the patients' comments.
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of mortality worldwide, and their prevention and control are essential for public health. Recent researches have highlighted the link between low levels of vitamin D and an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. This paper presents the current knowledge about the role of vitamin D supplementation as a potential strategy for cardiovascular disease prevention. Vitamin D plays a key role in the regulation of calcium and phosphate in the body, which affects the health of the heart and blood vessels. Low levels of vitamin D are associated with an increased incidence of hypertension, atherosclerosis and cardiac arrhythmias. Vitamin D supplementation can help maintain optimal levels of this vitamin in the body. Preliminary results from a series of studies suggest that vitamin D supplementation may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, especially in people with low baseline levels of the vitamin. However, further studies are needed in order to determine the optimal dosage and duration of supplementation, as well as reliably determine the effects and recommend more precise guidelines for the eventual use of vitamin D in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Introduction: Screening represents the preliminary detection of persons with unrecognized forms of health disorders with the help of easily and quickly applicable procedures with the aim of early detection. Although organized screening is carried out in our country, which is a mass invitation of the target population for examination, breast cancer has been the leading location in the incidence and death of malignant tumors in women in Serbia for years. The aim of the work was to determine the practice of nurses in the screening of leading health disorders. Method and subjects: The research was designed as a cross-sectional study that was carried out in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic "Narodni Front" in Belgrade. The research included 59 nurses. As a monitoring instrument, a questionnaire for nurses specially designed for this research was used. Research result: Breast self-examination and clinical breast examination were performed by only slightly more than 1/3 of nurses who participated in the research, while mammography was performed by 70% of nurses who are older than 50 years. Almost all nurses performed a pap smear. The largest percentage of nurses (57.6%) measures blood pressure only when they do not feel well, and even 15.3% never measure it. As many as 74.6% of nurses never performed an examination of moles and skin. Conclusion: Bearing in mind that almost all nurses employed in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic regularly go for Pap smears, while a small percentage go to other screenings for health disorders or ignore them, indicates the necessity of additional education about the importance of screening
The role of the nurse in the everyday work in different health institutions is very important and today recognized as the basis of modern health care. Nurses are an important pillar of all activities that are carried out in order to improve health and prevent disease. They educate patients about the choice of a healthy lifestyle, immunization and available screening tests, as they often today, in large research centers, introduce patients to possibilities of new modalities for the treatment of certain diseases, through participation in clinical trials. Clinical trials are of enormous importance in the field of medicine and health care. They play a key role in advancing medical knowledge as well as improving patient care. However, the most important postulate in a clinical trial is the guarantee of the subject's safety and the application of the best possible therapy. Nurses are indispensable members of the clinical trial team, contributing significantly to the overall success of a trial, both from the point of view of the integrity of the collected data and from the point of view of patient satisfaction. The growing development of research is increasingly recognizing the important role and importance of the nurse, who must possess modern knowledge and specific skills in order to meet the ever-increasing demands that this profession brings with it today.
Introduction: Health education as a young scientific discipline has a great influence and implementation in all spheres of life. Nutrition largely determines people's health, and people struggle with obesity more and more due to excessive energy intake. Improper nutrition over long distances leads to a large release of free radicals that lead to many chronic diseases. The aim of the work: To determine the knowledge of respon-dents about the importance of proper nutrition for their health. Method of work: cross-sectional study by an anonymous ques-tionnaire were examined 50 respondents in the Health Center "Kraljevo" in the period November 13.-17.th, in 2021. Results: Through investigation, we learn that 78% of respon-dents are female, 80% of respondents live in urban areas COM-pared to 20% who live in rural areas. 96% of respondents know what obesity is and 80% have had or have a problem with it. 70% of respondents skip their daily meals and 100% had some health problem in the previous year. Conclusion: We can conclude that the dominant part of the re-spondents has a problem with obesity, even though health pro-fessionals have informed them of potential problems.
