The advantages of aggressive strategy in the patients with acute coronary syndrome are under discussion. We investigated whether the effectiveness of PTCA and stenting depend on time to start or not. There were 142 patients, attended the Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital with acute myocardial infarction or unstable angina, divided into two groups according to the duration of symptoms revascularization. The immediate results of angioplasty. state and functional data during 6 months were assessed in this paper. Considerable outcome improvements independently on ST segment elevation were demonstrated in the group with early revascularization at first twelve ours from symptoms beginning. The positive change in state of cardiac system was due to successful coronary angioplasty. Additional angioplasty by stenting decreased the frequency of restenosis and symptoms recurrence.
