Goal of this research is to improve the capability of ultrasound images for detecting breast microcalcifications (MCs) and remove the major barriers of ultrasound for early breast cancer detection. The low detection rate of MCs with ultrasound is due to the low spatial resolution of the ultrasound images and to the presence of speckle noise, which masks the tiny microcalcifications.
