In recent years, emerging analytical technologies are considered environmentally friendly since to reduce the negative impacts of conventional methods, they apply different strategies, such as simplification, miniaturization, waste and time minimization, automation, safety, and cost reduction. Marine organisms are classified into six major groups including bacteria, protozoans, algae, fungi, plants like mangroves, and animals. Some of them can be used in food supplements or nutraceuticals due to their bioactive compound content, mainly phenolics. Focusing on phenolic compounds from marine sources, new approaches for assessing analytical protocols related to green analytical chemistry attributes have been required. Thus, this chapter discusses several methods applicable to characterize phenolic compounds from marine sources, aiming to optimize sample treatment, and chromatographic and mass detection parameters.
