To analyze the inclusion of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) in courses offered by Physical Education Graduate Programs (PEPP), a descriptive documentary research was conducted based on course descriptions identified on websites. Of the 40 PEPPs identified, 28 contained the theme of health in their areas of concentration or lines of research (70%). Of the 897 disciplines analyzed, eight address the SUS (0.89%), offered by seven PEPPs. The courses addressed topics related to the "history, principles and guidelines of the SUS" (n = 5), "knowledge related to physical activity" (n = 4) and "role of PE / the PE professional in the SUS" (n = 4). Although the connection between Public Health and PE is not so recent, the inclusion ofdisciplines addressing the SUS in PEPP is still incipient. It is recommended that mechanisms be created to ensure that health education in graduate programs in Physical Education is guided by the SUS principles and guidelines.
