Data Analytic Frameworks

This chapter addresses three major statistical approaches to longitudinal data analysis relevant to randomized controlled trials (RCTs): analysis of variance models (ANOVAs), latent growth models (LGMs), and hierarchical linear models (HLMs), or their generalization, hierarchical models (HMs). It also describes some use of nonlinear generalized additive models (GAMs).
