ON THE COVER CmABCB1, a multi-drug ABC transporter, transports various chemical compounds coupled to ATP binding and hydrolysis. In this cover image, the cycle of CmABCB1 switching between the inward-facing state and the outward-facing state is shown on lower panel. A glycine-to-valine (green to pink) mutation (G132V) at the pivotal joint of the transmembrane region of CmABCB1 affected the opening size of the substrate exit (upper pink), which was revealed by the high-resolution crystal structure.
