Introduction: Cutaneous defects that occur after skin cancer resection are conventionally reconstructed by skin transplantation. This procedure is accompanied by a high morbidity, extensive operation time and postoperative pain. After preclinical evaluation and intraoral application of a three-dimensional collagen-based matrix (CM), the aim of this case series was to investigate the cutaneous regeneration by means of this collagen-based matrix after cancer resection of Basal Cell Carcinoma and malignant melanoma without skin transplantation.
