With the development of micro and nanotechnology, expectations related to improving the quality of life and health are growing. One area of development is the application of materials and electrical engineering to identify skin inflammation. The authors of the work describe the results of the analysis of technological solutions existing in the literature. They present solutions for the production and application of sensors to verify the development of wound inflammation, as well as the impact of using electrotherapy to accelerate wound healing.
The European Spallation Source (ESS) project currently enters the final stage of installation. Since 2017, a group of engineers and technicians from The Henryk Niewodniczanski Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Science (IFJ PAN) are involved in the project. The contribution to the project can be divided into three main tasks: Radio Frequency Distribution System (RFDS), RF (Radio Frequency) Power Stations and Cryomodules. The RFDS in ESS project is one of the largest installations of this type consisting of 155 RF high power systems. Engineers and technicians from IFJ PAN were responsible for preparation, installation and RF measurements of the above-mentioned system. The team is also involved in preparation and conducting low and high power tests of the RF stations. The IFJ PAN team is also responsible for the preparation as well as vacuum and cryogenic tests for 9 Medium and 21 High Beta Cryomodules, before they are installed in the tunnel. The advanced quality control and quality assurance were mandatory for this work because the costs of failures, as well as potential delays, would have a huge impact in the project realisation. Therefore dedicated methods and approaches have been adapted to this work using experience gained by the IFJ PAN team on previous projects like LHC, XFEL and W7X.
The paper presents the way of understanding the phenomena of electricity and magnetism in the influence of healing and metaphysics. The esoteric nature of these phenomena, as well as the nature of electromagnetic radiation, introduces them into the area of metaphysics, effectively for the divine study of their effect. This also applies to acting activity, connected with phenomena of healing, as well as to theological activity, searching for the relationship between God and man as a result of electricity and magnetism. The article presents examples of both these areas.
Smart wound healing is a term that refers to the use of advanced materials and technologies that can actively interact with the wound environment and promote tissue regeneration. Rapid changes in the physical, chemical and mechanical parameters of the affected skin may make visual assessment of the wound healing process insufficient. Sensors used in wearable electronics allow for a quick reaction of medical services to disturbing changes occurring within the wound area. This paper is a review of possible electroceutical solutions for monitoring and accelerating the healing process.
The article presents the development of the finite element method from the first formulations of the method to its modern application. In connection with the 80th anniversary of the first mathematical descnption of the method, the profiles of the researchers who had the greatest influence on its development are introduced. Particular attention was paid to its use in computational electromagnetism. Polish achievements in this field were emphasized. (80 Years of the Finite Element Method)).
The paper deals with the electromagnetic field shielding both at low and high frequency. At the low frequency the goal of shielding is to regulate the distribution of electromagnetic field in order to either minimizing the power losses in the iron (steel) parts of the device in question. The main practical aim of the shielding at the low frequency electromagnetic field is to avoid the state of overheating. At the high frequency the shielding is mainly dedicated to limit the radiation from the electromagnetic sources and the protection of electronic devices. In some extreme cases the shielding has to protect the humans against electromagnetic field.

The article presents the problems associated with treating type 2 diabetes with electricity and magnetism. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a common disease that leads to significant body dysfunctions. The latest research presented in the article indicates the possibility of treating this disease with physical medicine, in this case, with electroceutical agents. The paper presents a review of the literature regarding the use of such methods in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The results of the research obtained after placing examined objects in electromagnetic, electrostatic and magnetostatic field show that the glucose level and diabetic neuropathy in rodents and humans were reduced and/or stabilized. Translating these results into clinical applications still requires a lot of research on larger living organisms and eventually in humans. The benefits of electroceutical therapy may not be overestimated, mainly due to the great simplicity of the therapeutic system.
The paper is to remind of the 200 anniversary of the discovery by Hans Christian Oersted, which can be recognized as the beginning of electromagnetism as the phenomenon which physically joins electricity and magnetism. In the frame of the 200-year history, the development of Polish research activity in this area is presented.

Effective interpersonal communication is of key importance in the professional environment, but above all in private life. People with hearing problems find it difficult to communicate their thoughts and feelings to the outside world. To enable them to communicate, sign language was created, to be a bridge between the world of deaf people and the world of people without hearing impairment. Every day it is difficult to find people who are not deaf, and who can use sign language. In this paper, the authors describe the methods used for communication between people hard of hearing and people with normal audible range. The article presents the solutions that use vision systems available at the world market as well as descriptions of gloves enabling the mentioned communication. Additionally, the authors describe a self-made glove that is used to translate letters from sign language into text or speech. For this purpose, as detectors of the degree of finger bending, the sensors built based on textile substrates with thin metallic layers, changing their resistance depending on the degree of finger bending are used. The effectiveness of repeating hand gestures in the proposed solution is 86.5%, with 520 hand gestures symbolizing the letters of the Polish alphabet.
The article presents problems related to the emission of the electromagnetic field at terahertz frequencies. Properties of the terahertz band in the frequency spectrum are presented. The phenomena of absorption occurring at the THz frequencies has been shown and described. The technical aspects of 6G technology, which will use the terahertz band of the electromagnetic field, were discussed. The anticipated sixth generation telephony applications are cited.
The article outlines the assumptions of the theory of torsion fields treated in the scientific community as an element of pseudoscience. This topic is important due to the emergence of conspiracy theories related to the introduction of a new generation of mobile telephony, which is a natural development of technology, and the dissemination of false information about the spread of viruses, including Covid-19. The presented opinion of the authors is a contribution to the educational process aiming at the elimination of the conspiracy theories from the society.
Many future particle colliders require beam crabbing to recover geometric luminosity loss from the nonzero crossing angle at the interaction point (IP). A first demonstration experiment of crabbing with hadron beams was successfully carried out with high energy protons. This breakthrough result is fundamental to achieve the physics goals of the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) and the future circular collider (FCC). The expected peak luminosity gain (related to collision rate) is 65% for HL-LHC and even greater for the FCC. Novel beam physics experiments with proton beams in CERN's Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) were performed to demonstrate several critical aspects for the operation of crab cavities in the future HL-LHC including transparency with a pair of cavities, a full characterization of the cavity impedance with high beam currents, controlled emittance growth from crab cavity induced rf noise.
Fighting against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its consequence COVID-19 was the main task for scientists in the years 2020-2021. The authors of this article present innovative solutions which recently were undertaken by electrical and computer engineers to participate in the struggle with the pandemic of COVID-19 in the world. The number of the attempts presented is limited as well as a pretty big number of them are still in progress. The paper shows the representative solutions which can be used in the pandemic of COVID-19 or in any other pandemic in the future as the temperature monitoring, ansomia and cough analysis, vaccines using the electroporation phenomena.

Two electroceutical procedures in the healing of the urine incontinency. The ailment touches many people, especially women and people after 60. The therapeutical methods, hitherto used, are based on pharmacology or the physiotherapy which interferes his/her intimacy too much. Two approaches are described in the paper: one which is based on electrostimulation (TENS) and the second on the magnetic stimulation.
Stroke is a disease affecting a large part of our society. According to WHO data, it is the second world’s biggest killer, accounting for near six million deaths in 2016 and it is about 30% of the total number of strokes per year. Other patients affected by such a disease should be rehabilitated as soon as possible. As a result of this phenomenon, paresis may occur. Among the devices available on the market there are many rehabilitation robots, but the method of electrostimulation can be used. The authors focused their attention on electrostimulation and commercially available therapies. Using this method, application to people with large hand muscle contracture is difficult. The authors of the work present a solution dedicated to exactly such people. A solution of textronic sensors manufactured on a textile substrate using the technology of physical vapor deposition is presented in the article. As a result of the conducted research, an electroconductive structure was obtained with a low surface resistance value of 1 Ω/□ and high flexibility. It can alternatively be used in hand rehabilitation for electrostimulation of fingertips. The solution is dedicated to people with high hands spasticity for whom it is impossible to put on a rehabilitation glove.
