Back ground: It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through “Meridians” in the body. In the treatment physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow or with various devices. Some medical studies have suggested that acupressure may be effective at helping manage nausea and vomiting. Like many alternative medicine it may benefit from a placebo effect. Aim: To assess the level of knowledge regarding acupressure on vomiting among staff nurses. Material and method: Study conducted by using the quantitative research approach by using descriptive research design was adopted to assess the environmental health risks among adults.Statistical Analysis Used: The collected data was organized, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics based on the objectives of the study. Results and Conclusion: The study result shows that with regard to level of knowledge, 2(6.67%) had knowledge score A grade, 1(3.33%) had knowledge score B+ grade, 8(26.67%) had knowledge score B grade, 9(30%) had knowledge score C grade and 10(33.33%) had knowledge score D grade.
Background: The practice of breast self-examination has become popular as a means of early detection of breast cancer. Because of the sexuality associated with breast. Some women find it difficult to view their breast as functional anatomy that needs proper health care as much as other anatomical parts. Women should begin to perform breast self-examination as soon as they develop breast. Aim: To assess the Effectiveness of teaching programme on breast self-examination among adult women. Material and method: Study conducted by using the quasi experimental design, using Simple random sampling technique by lottery method. Statistical Analysis Used: The collected data was organized, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics based on the objectives of the study. Results and Conclusion: The study reveals that knowledge of breast self-examination among adult women in experimental group, shows that 81% are having good knowledge, 12% are having adequate knowledge and 7% are having poor knowledge. Hence the teaching programme on breast selfexamination was more effective to improve health status.
Back ground: Playing is a pivotal part of a child’s life. Playing is an important part of the childhood development. Through playing children learn about shapes, colors, cause and effect. Besides cognitive thinking, playing helps the child to learn social and psychomotor skills. Aim: To assess the effectiveness of activity friendly play intervention on healthy habits among children. Material and method: Study conducted by using the experimental pre testpost test design, using Simple random sampling technique. Statistical Analysis Used: The collected data was organized, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics based on the objectives of the study. Results and Conclusion: The study reveals that healthy habits of children in experimental group, shows that (14%) are having average healthy habits, 16 (53%) are having good healthy habits and 10(33%) are having very good healthy habits. Hence the activity friendly play intervention was more effective to improve healthy habits.
Back ground: Nursing education is a higher standard of education a deeper and clear understanding of social issues and greater technical efficiency. Nursing is viewed as in interpersonal process. Health care personnel, of which nursing is usually the largest group is developed to meet the requirement of the health care system for meeting the health needs of population, planning for nursing education may for the education for other health and development. Aim: To assess the level of knowledge regarding quality of nursing education among nurses in NMCH, Nellore. Material and method: Study conducted by using the quantitative research approach by using non experimental descriptive research design. The samples were selected by using Non probability convenience sampling technique. Statistical Analysis Used: The collected data was organized, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics based on the objectives of the study. Results and Conclusion: The result shows that with regard to level of knowledge regarding quality of nursing education among nurses 4(13.3%) of nurses had A+ grade of knowledge, 5(16.7%) of nurses had Score A grade of knowledge, 8(26.6%) of nurses had score B+ grade of knowledge, 7(23.4%) of nurses had score B grade of knowledge, 3(10%) of nurses had score C grade of knowledge 3(10%) of nurses had score D Grade of knowledge.
