ABSTRACT During the fall 2015 semester, 21 students registered for a Competitive Intelligence (CI) course at two universities completed pre-course and post-course surveys. This article compares how students assessed their own information literacy skills prior to taking the course and upon course completion. The analysis compares responses from each class to ascertain similarities and differences between undergraduates and graduate students. Self-assessments of the MBA-MSIS students from the fall 2015 semester are compared to those from prior semesters, 2010–2012 (N = 109). The results point to how information literacy training embedded in course work can influence information behaviors.
