La Société d’histoire de la pharmacie (SHP), créée en 1913, fut associée dès l’origine à une publication, un bulletin devenu par la suite une revue. Cette société et ce journal – les premiers dans le monde dans ce domaine – ont permis le développement et la présentation de nombreux travaux sur l’histoire de cette profession, d’abord confondue avec les épiciers puis individualisée à la fin du xviiie siècle en France. La SHP encourage les jeunes historiens à s’intéresser à la pharmacie en décernant des prix et des bourses. Elle fait partie de la Société internationale d’histoire de la pharmacie.
Parmi les sujets abordés en 1923, les produits de contraste utilisés en radiologie font l’objet de plusieurs publications. Tout d’abord, l’utilisation du Lipiodol® proposé par Sicard et Forestier l’année précédente donne lieu à de nouveaux travaux.

This society and journal - the first in the world in this field - have enabled the development and presentation of numerous works on the history of this profession, first confused with grocers and then individualized at the end of the 18th century in France. The SHP encourages young historians to take an interest in pharmacy by awarding prizes and scholarships. It is a member of the International Society for the History of Pharmacy. La radiologie, en 1922, n’est pas réservée aux seuls médecins. Il faudra attende les années 1930 pour que ce soit le cas. Cela n’a pas empêcher que ce développe un enseignement de la radiologie et de la radiothérapie dès la fin du XIXe siècle dans les hôpitaux. Mais, en 1922, il n’y a aucun enseignement officiel dans les facultés de médecine.
There is no consensus on the ideal scar location and inframammary fold (IMF) placement in the gender-affirming double-incision mastectomy technique. Recent advances in imaging technology have facilitated noninvasive investigations into anatomic variability, in many cases, obviating the traditional approach of cadaveric dissection to answer anatomic questions. A better understanding of chest wall sexual dimorphism may allow surgeons who perform gender-affirming procedures to achieve more natural-appearing results. A total of 60 chests were analyzed using either cadaveric dissection (n = 30) or virtual dissection with 3-dimensional (3-D) reconstructions of computed tomography (CT) images (n = 30) using the Vitrea® software. Chest proportions were recorded using each technique, correlating surface anatomy with muscular and bony landmarks. Cadaveric and 3-D radiography chest analysis revealed that natal male chest walls are, on average, wider and longer than natal female chest walls. The pectoralis major muscle dimensions and the location of its insertion were not found to significantly differ between male and female chests. The male nipple-areolar complex (NAC) tended to be narrower in length and width, with a less projecting nipple than the female NAC. Finally, the IMF was found to lie over the interspace between the fifth and sixth rib in both male and female chests. Our findings confirm natal male and female IMF are positioned between the 5th and 6th ribs. This fact affirms the senior author’s technique of masculinizing the chest, keeping the masculinized IMF at approximately the same level as the natal female IMF and following the pectoralis major muscle edges to define the resulting scar in a way that differs from previously reported techniques.

Il est donc nécessaire d’adapter le protocole à la symptomatologie du patient.Le protocole de base doit comporter des séquences axiales T1 et coronales STIR avec un grand champ de vue, puis des séquences centrées sur l’articulation symptomatique avec un petit champ de vue, idéalement 3D T1 et 3D densité de protons, avec saturation de graisse. Pour ces séquences, il faut privilégier le spin écho qui permet une meilleure analyse du cartilage. En fonction de l’indication, il est parfois nécessaire d’ajouter à ce protocole une injection intraveineuse de produit de contraste, une opacification articulaire ou des séquences sagittales T2.Complexity of the hip joint anatomy makes its MRI analysis difficult. It is therefore required to adapt the protocol to the patient's.The basic protocol must include T1-weighted axial and coronal STIR sequences with a large field of view. Other sequences focused on the symptomatic hip with a small field of view, ideally 3D T1 and 3D proton-density fat saturation are also performed. These sequences should ideally be performed in spin echo, which provides a better cartilage analysis. Depending on indication, additional sequences can be sometimes useful such as T1-weighted imaging after intravenous injection of Gadolinium, or a joint opacification or T2-weighted sagittal sequences.
The history of toxicology in France over the last two centuries has been marked by numerous authors who have progressively broadened the fields of investigation: initially concerned with criminal or accidental poisonings, they have also taken an interest in the environment, workers' health, doping and illicit products, the dangers of radioactivity or combat gases, the risks associated with drugs, etc. Often pharmacists, these toxicology experts were specialists in analytical chemistry and developed numerous methods to refine the detection and characterization of potentially toxic products, and to better understand the mechanisms of toxicity produced by these substances.
On the occasion of the centenary of the first use of an iodinated contrast agent (Lipiodol (R)) in 1921, this review traces the history of contrast agents that have closely accompanied the innovation of radiology equipment. Lipiodol is an iodinated oil that has made it possible to highlight the interest of the visualization of closed structures of the body (e.g., lung, subarachnoid space, bladder, and joints) and blood and lymphatic vessels. Other water-soluble products then appeared with a radical change in 1953 with the marketing of diatrizoate. The appearance of computed tomography scanners was concomitant with that of low osmolality iodinated contrast products. The arrival of magnetic resonance imaging was quickly followed by gadolinium complexes and then superparamagnetic particles based on iron oxide particles. Thus, the landscape has changed in recent years in radiology, with imaging taking the lead in the current diagnostic scheme.
Le Groupe des Tickettistes (1907-1919) : une histoire méconnue – Le Groupe des Tickettistes est créé en 1907 et fait partie des systèmes mis en place par les fabricants de spécialités pour maintenir des prix à un niveau qu’ils considèrent comme acceptable. Ce système permettait aussi d’assurer une marge significative aux pharmaciens d’officine. Il était cependant très complexe à gérer en pratique pour les fabricants comme pour les officinaux. En 1919, le Groupe des Tickettistes se résout à rejoint le Syndicat général de la réglementation qui réunit dès lors l’ensemble des systèmes mis en place à l’époque. Les archives du laboratoire du Gomenol nous permettent de mieux comprendre ce système et les enjeux pour les parties prenantes.
