This paper examined technology information as the factor that drives productivity among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), particularly the effect of innovation on the performance of SMEs and the effect of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Technology on industrial performance. The mediation of CRM Technology on the effect of innovation on company performance was examined as well. Survey questionnaire was distributed online to 544 firms, and data were analyzed through structural equation models using Amos version 23. Results show that innovation increases productivity (performance) of small businesses and plays a positive role on information systems. However, innovation had an insignificant role on industrial Performance. Meanwhile, CRM Technology shows no mediation in the relationship between innovation and performance. Generally, results proved the significance of innovation in enhancing company performance.
This quantitative study examined the relationships between privacy, trust and level of service quality, and customer satisfaction. Jordanian firm employees involved in CRM technology were the study samples. Data from 620 completed questionnaires were analyzed utilizing AMOS software version 23. The study hypotheses were tested through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The causal relationships among the study’s main variables were examined as well. Results showed a positive impact of trust, privacy, and level of service quality on customer satisfaction. Managers and practitioners could pursue this study results in their CRM systems implementation. Additionally, the relations between privacy, trust and level of service quality, and customer satisfaction could be examined further as these relations in CRM systems have not been adequately examined, especially in emergent industries of developing countries.
The increasing popularity of intelligence systems in accounting and auditing domains has led to the interest towards drivers of blockchain technology adoption. Consequently, this empirical study inspected the antecedent constructs with direct and indirect impact on blockchain technology adoption in the accounting domain. Data were gathered from 346 accountants employed in Information technology (IT) companies, through an online survey. Structural equation modeling with Smart PLS 4 was employed for research model testing. Out of thirteen proposed direct hypotheses, twelve were accepted. Mainly, the obtained empirical results confirmed effort expectancy impacting blockchain technology adoption the most. Furthermore, the obtained results also confirmed the mediation role of effort expectancy and performance expectancy.
The study aimed to define the contribution of total quality management in relations with suppliers and customers in Jordanian pharmaceutical companies. The study population consisted of pharmaceutical companies in Jordan targeting individuals in supervisory positions in these companies. A total of 170 responses were received. The results of the study found that Jordanian pharmaceutical companies apply total quality management in terms of “commitment of senior management, employee empowerment, strategic planning for quality”, which had positive relationships with suppliers and customers. It indicates that total quality management and supply chain practices, especially the relationship with suppliers and customers, are among the basic concepts that work to improve supply chain performance. The study recommends devoting the necessary attention and care to empowering workers, and this is where the essential role-play for senior management is to create interest among employees in their work and jobs through training programs. However, developing methods of collective motivation, participating in setting goals, making decisions, and displaying the image of the work “Family” and forming problem-solving teams for the purpose of achieving empowerment is also important.
This research uses Technology Acceptance Model to explore the elements influencing students' attitudes toward using Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT), a recently developed artificial intelligence (AI) tool, for learning and educational purposes. Using Amos version 23 structural equation modelling and 880 student survey responses, the suggested model was empirically tested. According to the report, students think well of ChatGPT utilization in the classroom. Credibility, Usefulness and ease of use, all influence how positively people feel about using this technology in a classroom setting. The study's findings, however, did not support the notion that students' adoption and use of ChatGPT was insignificantly influenced by perceived enjoyment. Moreover, the results conclude that attitude mediates the relationship between usefulness and intention to use ChatGPT. The research will help businesses, educational institutions, and the global community by providing insight into how students view the ChatGPT service within a learning environment. Additionally, the application boosts learners' confidence and interest, which improves general awareness and literacy. Finally, the research will facilitate developers of AI in the betterment of their product and service delivery and regulators in regulating the use of AI-based bots. Owing to its recentness, there is not much study currently available on ChatGPT use in education. This research adds significantly to the extant knowledge on the adoption of advanced education technologies by examining the adoption characteristics of ChatGPT, a novel AI-based tool involving students. Additionally, there is a dearth of research in the literature on students' adoption of ChatGPT for educational purposes. Such a gap was filled as this study identified the factors affecting students' adoption of ChatGPT in the classroom.
This qualitative study examined the impact of social media characteristics on the attitude of users toward the use of e-services by the Department of Lands and Survey. The study population comprised users of Department of Lands and Survey e-service, while the study sample comprised 407 users. Data from respondents were analyzed using SEM run using Amos (23). Results showed reliability, security, website design, ease of use, awareness, and digital divide as direct significant antecedents of user attitude toward the use of e-services from the Department of Lands and Survey. Also, all antecedents showed direct significant relationships with user attitude. Results showed a direct significant relationship between user attitude and the use of e-services from the Department of Lands and Survey. Through mediation of user attitude, five indirect significant relationships between the antecedents and the use of e-services from the Department of Lands and Survey were found. The inclusion of new antecedents such as privacy and site content may enhance the understanding of how users use e-services provided by the Department of Lands and Survey.
This research investigates the adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Corporations (MSMEs) in Jordan. The research formulates and examines hypotheses on factors affecting ICT adoption morals via the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The suggested concept, which utilizes Structural Equation Modelling (ESM), highlights the critical responsibilities that social influence and perceived utility play in affecting choices to adopt ICT. It is noteworthy that MSMEs confront a multiple of obstacles when it comes to adopting ICT, encompassing restrictions in terms of infrastructure and resources, shortages of human capital, and hardships in the technology environment. Data were gathered from 305 MSMEs, and outcomes shed light on important factors to boost the impact of ICT integration in the special setting of Jordanian MSMEs.
Discovering the marketers and advertisers’ knowledge provides an ability to present a well understanding of how value could be created. The main purpose of this research is to identify the factors influencing the marketers and advertisers’ co-creation value in mobile applications setting in Jordan through applying several information systems theories. Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used for data analysis and hypothesis testing. The convenience method was also approached to determine the sample size and data collection method. The result of the recent study confirms that extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and eTailQ model provide a capability to determine, increase, or generate the marketers and advertisers value using Open-Sooq app in Jordan. Finally, the current research had some theoretical and practical implications, limitations, and future orientation studies that were discussed in their specific parts.
The aim of this paper is to investigate the possible association among profitability evaluated ROA and ROE and capital structure, represented by the debt ratio and debt to equity ratio with the share price of Jordanian banks. The chosen sample consists of 7 traditional banks operating in Jordan, and panel data analysis is utilized to examine the period spanning from 2015 to 2019. The model employed to analyze data is the fixed effect model. This study relied on (ROA, ROE, DR and DER) as independent variables, whereas the share price as dependent variable. The results reached reveal that a negative influence of debt ratio exists on Jordanian banks' share price, while positively impacted by ROA and ROE, however, DER has insignificant influence on share price that traded by Jordanian banks. The outcomes presented above align with the prevailing literature reviews included in this study, confirming the theoretical discussions concerning the interplay between capital structure, profitability, and share price.
This study investigates how e-learning can raise the caliber of education provided in Jordanian higher education institutions. The study looks into how e-learning affects educational quality by taking into account individual demands, perceived learning value, and technological and electronic requirements. Using a questionnaire, information was gathered from professors at six Jordanian private universities in Amman. The findings underscore the significance of e-learning mandates and the moderating function of upper management backing in augmenting academic achievements. Faculty members should be empowered, and tools should be made available to maximize learning results.
This paper aims to investigate if trust, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use affect the intention to use e-payment. Also, the study explores if attitudes towards the use of e-payment influence consumer's intentions to use the e-payment system which is supported by testing the moderation effect of Self-Efficacy, and Computer Anxiety on the attitude to use such systems in higher education institutes. The study found that there are a variety of effects of the Electronic Payment Acceptance Model in the United Arab Emirates that pertain to sociological, legal, and economic aspects. The United Arab Emirates can benefit from a more robust and inclusive digital payment ecosystem by comprehending and implementing the lessons gained from such research. Among the lessons learned from this study is that using electronic payment leads to many benefits, it is not possible to benefit from all these benefits if the acceptance rate of technology, especially electronic payment, is low. For this reason, this research came to provide solutions to the possibility of increasing the acceptance of technology among individuals and organizations through a complete model and studying the impact of its factors and the factors that moderate the relationship in it.
The present study attempted to determine the elements affecting users' opinions about using electronic auctions in Jordan. The study's target audience was Jordanian university students. We randomly selected 600 students from three public universities in Jordan after 600 users from each of the three universities responded to the surveys. The primary data for this study were gathered using a specially created questionnaire that was based on earlier research. SEM software (smart PLS 4.0.8.3) was employed in the evaluation of data. This study looked into the factors that led Jordanians to use electronic auctions and found four indirect significant relationships and ten direct significant relationships. First, user attitudes and independent variables (usefulness, awareness, ease of use, and techno trust) are directly significant antecedents of utilizing e-auctions in Jordan. The use of e-auctions is related to the independent variable in five direct and significant ways: usefulness, awareness, ease of use, digital divide, and techno trust. Thirdly, there are direct and statistically significant correlations between user attitudes and the independent variables (usefulness, awareness, ease of use, and techno trust). Fourthly, there appears to be a clear and significant link between user attitudes and the intention to use e-auctions. Fifth, there are four mediated meaningful indirect correlations between the intention to use e-auctions and the independent variable. The findings of the current study are based on a number of factors that affect the demand for e-commerce in Jordan. They also include some recommendations for academics and decision-makers in e-marketing affairs. The current study also contributes in identifying challenges and suggestions that would overcome obstacles related to shopping operations through e-auctions. The factors examined in this study have been the subject of prior research. The data gathered in this study are valuable to Jordanian decision-makers and web developers, as the data can be used to create efficient policies and strategies to launch work on electronic auction platforms.
This study examined the perception of investors toward the factors of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that impact behavioral intention of AI adoption. TAM was used with the addition of three factors of subjective norms, trust in service and service provider, and training. Jordanian stock market investors with basic investment knowledge were selected as the study participants using a convenience sampling method. The analyzed data were obtained from 610 responses. Results demonstrated the significant impact of trust in service and subjective norms on AI. Attitudes, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness showed statistical significance toward intention to use AI. Results also showed significant impact of training on perceived ease of use.
The present study examined the impact of social media influencers (SMIs) on consumers’ purchasing decisions, by examining the factors affecting purchase intentions of consumers. Online questionnaire was used to gather data from Facebook users as the study respondents. SMIs are currently a promising marketing technique in influencing purchase intention of customers, but in Jordan, studies on this matter are still lacking. This study therefore presented several key factors associated with SMIs in influencing the purchase intention of customers, in Jordanian context. Accordingly, the key factors affecting customer purchase intention through SMIs were examined. A model was proposed and empirically tested and validated using structural equation model (SEM), with data obtained from 390 Jordanian Facebook users. From the results, significant impact of Information Quality (IQ) and Trustworthiness (TRU) on attitude toward a brand, and consequently on purchase intentions of customers, was affirmed.
E-learning results from the integration of technology and education and has become an effective learning medium today. E-learning courses and systems with various services are on the rise owing to its importance. E-learning systems should be evaluated to assure successful delivery, effective usage, and positive impacts on learners. A holistic model that identifies various levels of success on a vast range of success determinants was proposed. The model was empirically validated using data obtained from 724 e-learning student users in Jordan. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used in data analyses. Results showed that perceived usefulness of information systems, user training, system quality, and management support have positive effects on user’s behavioral intention; whereas perceived ease of use has not. Also, SEM displayed that user behavioral intention has a positive effect on information systems use, use on student satisfaction, and the latter on student loyalty. Machine Learning (ML) methods produce high correlation values reaching up to 80% in predicting Behavior Intention (BI) from the input factors, and student loyalty from student satisfaction factors. This indicates that the ML are promising techniques to forecast the future targets based on the input independent features.
Blockchain technology is one of the crypto-currency technologies that has received a lot of attention. It has also found use in various applications, including the Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud computing. Nonetheless, Blockchain has a significant scalability issue, restricting its ability to support services with various transactions. On the other hand, cloud computing is the on-demand availability of shared computer system resources, although issues now beset it in automation, processes, management, policies, and human aspects. Combining cloud computing and blockchain technology into a single system can improve network control, task scheduling, data integrity, resource management, pricing, fair payment, and resource allocation. In this article, we offered a comprehensive and up-to-date survey of cloud computing and Blockchain integration, a critical service for business applications due to the benefits of privacy, security, and service support. The lack of a comprehensive assessment examining the significance of BaaS platforms used in cloud computing prompted this review. We focus on the various BaaS tools that are currently in use. This report also examines the most common BaaS platforms incorporating Blockchain as a cloud service, such as Alibaba, Oracle, Azure, Amazon, and IBM. Furthermore, this research highlighted some major technological issues associated with merging Blockchain with cloud computing.
The present study identified the impact of social media characteristics on the attitude of consumers towards e-services furnished by the Greater Amman Municipality. Quantitative descriptive methodology involving 700 e-service users in the Greater Amman Municipality was used the study population. SPSS (23) statistical software and SEM-designed software AMOS 20 was applied for data analyses. Antecedents were the direct major antecedents in the adoption of Greater Amman municipality e-services (reliability, security, website design, ease of use and usefulness). This study proposed looking into other social media traits such as privacy (among others), to ascertain their impact on how GAM uses electronic services.
The effect of contextual factors namely information quality, service quality, system quality, Technological readiness, trust in applications (app) and COVID-19 health anxiety, on the intention and consequently the actual use of Mobile Payment (MP) app was examined in this study. Trust, as mediator to the relationship between technological readiness and intention to use MB-app was examined also. Data were obtained from 740 Jordanian Mobile Banking (MB) app users through an online survey. The relationship between service quality, system quality, information quality, trust in the app, COVID-19 health anxiety, Technological readiness and the intentions to use MB-app and the actual use of MB-app was empirically examined. The results showed a positive relationship between service quality, system quality, information quality, trust in the app and COVID-19 health anxiety, and the intentions to use MB-app, and in turn he actual use of MB-app, and a positive mediation of trust on the relationship between COVID-19 health anxiety and the intentions to use MB-app.
The aim of this paper is to explore the potential correlation among operational risk and the profitability of Islamic banks in the MENA region. Different measures for profitability were relied upon in previous studies, however, in this article depend on return on assets and return on equity to measure profitability, and efficiency ratio calculated by operating expenses to total assets to measure operational risk. To achieve this objective, the sample comprises 20 Islamic banks from 12 MENA countries, creating panel data for a period of ten years from 2011 to 2020. The analysis was conducted using fixed effect models. The study will analyze and interpret the findings from two financial performance measures, namely, ROA and ROE to get insights into the banks' overall financial situation and their ability to generate profits from their assets and equity. Using one type of operational risk measured by (efficiency ratio) as an independent variable, along with profitability measures by (ROA and ROE) as dependent variables. These measures had a significant negative impact by the operational risk measured by (efficiency ratio). This means when the operational risk increases, this indicates that the management is not controlling the operations of the bank in the best way and inability or failure of the bank's management to effectively utilize the available resources and assets to generate satisfactory profits. This leads to an increase in the operating expenses and hence a decrease in profitability measures.
This study aims to model the relationship between business intelligence (BI), supply chain integration (SCI), and firm performance in Jordanian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using structural equation modeling (SEM). The study utilizes a sample of 400 SMEs from different sectors in Jordan to investigate the hypothesized relationships between the constructs. The results show that BI positively influences SCI and firm performance in Jordanian SMEs. Moreover, SCI was found to mediate the relationship between BI and firm performance. The study also found that the impact of BI on firm performance is fully mediated by SCI, suggesting that SCI plays a crucial role in enhancing firm performance in the context of Jordanian SMEs. The study makes several significant contributions to the literature on supply chain management and business intelligence in the context of SMEs. First, it provides empirical evidence of the positive impact of BI on SCI and firm performance. Second, it sheds light on the mediating role of SCI in the relationship between BI and firm performance. Third, the study contributes to the limited literature on supply chain management and business intelligence in the context of Jordanian SMEs. The findings of this study have practical implications for managers of SMEs in Jordan. They highlight the importance of investing in BI tools and strategies to enhance SCI and firm performance. Additionally, the study suggests that managers should focus on improving their firms' SCI practices to fully exploit the benefits of BI and improve their overall performance. Overall, this study provides new insights into the relationship between BI, SCI, and firm performance in the context of Jordanian SMEs. The study's findings can guide policymakers, researchers, and practitioners in developing and implementing effective strategies to improve supply chain management and business intelligence practices in SMEs, particularly in emerging markets such as Jordan.
