With the development of device networking and ubiquitous computing,many devices with traditional serial interface have a consumingly requirement of accessing Internet. In many early solutions,Internet Access Server must distinguish device communication protocols and group network datagram according to the detailed content of proto- cols. For the sake of improving generality of access server and reducing dependence of device protocols,this paper pre- sents a kind of general Internet Device Access Server based on Embedded Internet technique. Whatever data frame structure of exist serial devices,DAS transparently implements the transformation between serial interface data fea- tured by stream transmission and network interface data featured by datagram transmission.
A device access server of embedded-devices-oriented is presented and a model of the communication finite state machine is established for the DAS. Also it analyses and studies the model. The results of the real application show that the model is correct and feasible.
Based on the technology of the embedded internet, the dynamic device driver oriented architecture of connecting heterogeneous networks, called Webit, is proposed and the Webit model is established. This architecture introduces thin TCP/IP stack technology to upbuild embedded web server, and actualizes the connection of locale devices and internet. The design of embedded XML middleware realizes the integration of multi-task RTOS and embedded web server. The function of control, management, and downloading of programmable drivers can be implemented. The Webit architecture provides the possibility and technological assistance for industrial automatization and remoteness of intelligent household appliances.
A distributed network platform is develop with embedded Java and peer-to-peer technology based on a modified Client-Server network model. Using a set of protocols any peer on this platform can communicate with the other peers. This technology improves the ratio of network resource utilization greatly. The function of each peer on the platform plays as a service or a member which can be not only a computer but also a device such as customer device and communication device. At last an example of used Webit as embedded agent was given.
Based on Java Bean technology, a new kind of Embedded Internet module was established. The module realizes that the remote user can control lots of devices embedded internet at the same time with the technology of Web and Java Bean mainly, does a server without thinking of devices, and avoids developing server software repeatedly. Embedded Internet module gives us a practical and realizable way to embed various kinds of device to Internet.
