INTRODUCTIONThe personal luxury market is very important in terms of its monetary sales volume (more than US$ 278 billion annually in 2014 (Economist 2014)). The global luxury industry has seen steady growth over several decades and it is commonly believed to be one of the most appealing and profitable industries in the world. The abundance of luxury brands is undoubtedly worldwide, especially with the development of new luxury boutiques everywhere in every capital in developed markets and emerging markets too. In the past, luxury brands were often related to very select elite groups. However, luxury brands no longer belong to elite groups nowadays as they appeal themselves with a wider customer market, thanks to modernization and globalization. For all firms, the means of generating consistent profits comes by having customers who not only initially repurchase, but also consistently re-repurchase. Repurchasing customers are fundamental to the end-goal of every business. As a result, the measurement of customer satisfaction and repurchase intention has become critical to managers and researchers. Both measures have traditionally been used to understand and predict how a customer will behave. Satisfaction, nevertheless, is a traditional measurement whereas repurchase intention focuses on future consumption behavior. The purpose of this research is to study the relationship between demographic, personal value perceptions; social influence and functional value perception factors with repurchase intention for luxury brands in the luxury market.RESEARCH OBJECTIVESThis research aims to identify the factors influencing the purchase intention in the luxury market. The researchers examined the relationship between demographic, personal value perceptions, social influence, functional value perception and purchase intention in the luxury market. In conducting this study, the researchers examined four main factors likely influence the repurchase intention: six facets of value perception including hedonism, social status value, conspicuous value, price quality perception, uniqueness value as well as four demographic variables including gender and age level.* To evaluate the relationship between personal value perception in terms of hedonism and repurchase intention.* To evaluate the relationship between personal value perception in terms of materialism and repurchase intention.* To evaluate the relationship between social influence perceptions in terms of social status value and repurchase intention.* To evaluate the relationship between social influence perceptions in terms of conspicuous value and repurchase intention.* To evaluate the relationship between functional value perception in terms of price quality perception and repurchase intention.* To evaluate the relationship between functional value perception in terms of uniqueness value and repurchase intention.* To test a difference based on gender and repurchase intention.* To test a difference based on age and repurchase intention.LITERATURE REVIEWOne of the main thoughts in the market of luxury products is the importance of consumption directed by satisfying one-self (Tsai, 2005), which is linked to the expressive dimension of impression management. We can observe that an increasing number of consumers are repurchasing luxury products to derive self-directed hedonic experience and symbolic benefits (Wong and Ahuvia, 1998).Some researchers such as Tsai (2005) and Wiedmann (2009) argue that consumption directed toward the self has not been studied enough yet and requires more attention. Personal motive oriented consumers are concerned with being able to identify themselves with the product, earn an enjoyable experience from the product and link their individual tastes to the brandu0027s image (Wong and Ahuvia, 1998).Social status is the level of honor given to oneu0027s position in a society (Maiese, 2004). …
Global warming and the economic consequences of the global dependence on increasingly expensive gasoline have become the most serious and appalling world problems of today. Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV), currently in successful use in Thailand, have the potential to solve this problem in a relatively pollution-free manner. The question is how to get more consumers to adopt this new form of energy? This study examined how NGV’s can increase in popularity and obtain more consumer adoption in Thailand. A survey of 500 potential consumers from various geographic regions and demographic groups examined what factors impact on behavioral intention toward NGV. The results suggest that consumer’s behavioral intentions toward NGV are affected by factors pertaining to social influences and certain NGV attributes. Each group contains several sub-variables and is used in verifying its individual impact on consumer’s behavioral intention, while the differences in vehicle factors did not strongly affect the behavior intention. Recommendations for increasing the adoption rate of NGV in Thailand are provided. The findings of this study can assist in the creation of more effective marketing appeals for NGV in Thailand. Some of these finding could also be applicable to the task of encouraging current petroleum gas users in other countries to switch to natural gas vehicles.
This study examines the factors influencing consumer trust in internet shopping in Thailand. Utilizing the models from three previous studies, a conceptual framework was developed to examine the relationship between six factors which influence trust in Internet shopping. The study concluded that consumer perception of reputation, security, privacy, ease of use, usefulness, and integrity impact trust in Internet shopping in Thailand. Recommendations are provided for Internet sellers to enable them to increase consumer trust.
This study investigates the factors that affect repurchase intention to buy applications on Apple’s App Store in the emerging economy of Thailand. A conceptual model based on prior studies was developed for this project. The variables (a) perceived value, (b) service quality (ease of use, web design, responsiveness, personalization, and assurance), (c) customer satisfaction, and (d) trust were the independent variables which have an effect on repurchase intention (the dependent variable) from Apple’s App Store. The results indicate that perceived value, customer satisfaction, and trust have a direct effect on repurchase intention toward buying applications on Apple’s App Store while perceived value and service quality have an effect on customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction has an impact on trust. Based on the findings, suggestions are given to Apple Inc. and the iOS developers for encouraging customers to become more satisfied long term users of the Apple Apt store.
ABSTRACT:Trust is the most crucial factor for online shopping. Those organizations interested in enhancing their business channel with internet shopping need to understand the influence of consumers' trust, and how it depends on other independent variables. Additionally, they need to understand the cause of unreliability, how to eliminate it, and what functions have to be improved and maintained in order to attract consumers. This will allow organizations to understand the existing internet shopping environment and the consumers' decision to repurchase. This study investigates the factors influencing consumer trust in internet shopping in Thailand. Based on various previous empirical studies, a conceptual framework was developed to examine the relationship between six factors which influence trust in Internet shopping. The data was analyzed by using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test all hypotheses. The results of this study show that perceived integrity and perceived ease of use have a positive relationship with trust toward Internet shopping in Thailand. Recommendations are provided for Internet sellers to enable them to increase consumer trust.Chanidapa PrompongsatomNattapong SakthongSinon ChaipoopimtanaHoward CombsINTRODUCTIONSince the mid 1990s the Internet has grown tremendously and created countless applications in virtually every aspect of modem human life. The Internet continues to make the world smaller. It benefits the people around the world by enabling communication and transactions. Moreover, consumers are able to quickly search for the information they need. There are now over 1.7 billion Internet users in the world with the largest number being in Asia. In 2012, 28 percent of the world's population is online with the percentage online in Asia now 22 percent. According to a global survey conducted by the Nielsen Company, 85% of the world's online population has used the Internet to make a purchase, a 40% increase over the last two years. Online shoppers tend to exhibit repeat visits to the same online site based on the level tmst (Global online shopping report by Nielsen, 2008).Online tmst plays a major role in determining the success of ecommerce web sites (Koufaris and Hamptopn-Sosa, 2004). A high degree of tmst will create high expectations of satisfaction and increase the degree of purchase intention but reduce uncertainty in most online transactions (McKnight and Chervany, 2002; Pavlou, 2003; Gefen and Straub, 2003; Jarvenpaa et al, 2000). Also, tmst is a psychological state comprising the intention to accept vulnerability based on positive expectations of the intentions or behaviors of another. Intrinsically, trust implies a willingness to accept vulnerability, but with an expectation or confidence that one can rely on the other party. In the marketing literature, trust has been studied primarily in the context of relationship marketing (Doney and Cannon 1997). In studies of buyer-seller relationships, trust in a sales agent evolves over time and is based on a buyer's observation of a sales representative's honesty, reliability, consistency, and trustworthiness. To the extent that a consumer has positive impressions about a site and accepts vulnerability, she/he develops trust with that site. A consumer's perception of a site's competence to perform the required functions, and perception of the good intention of the firm behind the online storefront, contributes to his/her perception of trust in that site. Online trust thus includes consumer perceptions of how the site would deliver on customers' expectations, how believable the site's information is, and the level of confidence in the site. Therefore, trust is an important factor to facilitate online transactions.Acquiring customer trust depends on various factors. Many researchers have investigated how consumers develop trust. Based on many empirical previous studies, Tang (2005) found that perceived ease of use and usefulness are major significant affect on trust in online shopping. …
Customer loyalty is an important factor which has a significant effect on the profitability of the firm. The cost of keeping an existing customer to stay with the firm is much lower than the cost of acquiring a new customer. The purpose of this research is to build and test a model of factors effecting customer loyalty in Vietnamese banking industry. The data was obtained by distributing questionnaire to 400 bank customers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM). The results indicated that customer loyalty is positively and significantly influenced by perceived service quality (SERVPERF), corporate image, customer satisfaction, and switching costs. Additionally, the results revealed that perceived service quality has a significant effect on both corporate image and customer satisfaction.
This article investigates the effects and the relative importance of the four perceived service quality dimensions on corporate image, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. To obtain results, factor analysis and multiple regression techniques are applied to data collected from 500 Thai outpatients of the five largest private hospitals in Bangkok. The findings indicate that the four dimensions significantly affect corporate image, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. More specifically, the doctor concern dimension is the most important factor affecting customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. The tangibles dimension is the most important factor affecting corporate image.

This study examined the possible attributes of innovation that contribute to the adoption of innovative Internet banking services in India and Thailand. Diffusion of Innovation theory was utilized to study Indian and Thai banking customers living in several regions of the two countries. The attributes of innovation, used for this investigation, were complexity, compatibility, relative advantage and trialability. The results reveal that only complexity had a negative relationship with intention to adopt innovative Internet banking both in India and Thailand, while other attributes of innovation show a positive relationship. Several marketing related recommendations are offered for improving the success rate for the adoption of Internet banking in both India and Thailand.
