This interview looks at Guy Michelat's career-long relationship with social science methods of inquiry, and qualitative methods in particular. It discusses his training and the way in which he has practiced, analyzed and taught the non-directive interview. It furthermore highlights the influence of psychology and anthropology on qualitative methods in twentieth-century French political sociology.
