Economic growth is a global requirement that requires extensive energy consumption, and this phenomenon needs researchers' attention and regulators' focus. Thereby, the paper scrutinizes the determinants of energy consumption such as fossil fuel energy consumption (FFEC), energy use, nuclear energy consumption (NEC), energy import, and renewable energy consumption (REC) and sustainability-oriented eco-innovation and their effectiveness on the economic growth of Saudi Arabia. The study extracted data from the World Bank from 1989 to 2020. Stationarity was examined using augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) tests, and the associations among constructs were analyzed through QARDL model. The findings revealed that FFEC, EU, NEC, EI, REC, and sustainability-oriented eco-innovation are significantly correlated with the EG of Saudi Arabia. The study also provides insights to new researchers who will investigate this area in the future and guides regulators in developing regulations related to economic growth using an appropriate level of energy and adoption of sustainability-oriented eco-innovation.
Over the last three decades, the world has been facing the phenomenon of the ecological deficit as the ecological footprint is continuously rising due to the persistent decline of the per-capita bio-capacity. Moreover, there is a substantial increase in globalization and electricity consumption for the same period, and transportation is contributing to economic prosperity at the cost of environmental sustainability. Understanding the determinants of ecological footprint is thus critical for suggesting appropriate policies for environmental sustainability. As a result, this study analyzes the impacts of economic globalization, transportation, coal rents, and electricity consumption in ecological footprint in the context of the USA over the period 1995 to 2018. The data have been extracted from "Global Footprint Network," "Swiss Economic Institute," and "World Development Indicators." The current study has also applied the flexible Fourier form nonlinear unit root test to examine the stationarity among variables. For the empirical estimation, a novel technique, the "quantile auto-regressive distributive lag model," is applied in the study to deal with the nonlinear associations of the variables and to evaluate the long-term stability of variables across quantiles. The study's findings indicate that coal rents, transportation, and globalization significantly and positively contribute to the deterioration of ecological footprints at different quantile ranges in the short and long run. Electricity consumption is found to have a positive and significant impact at lower quantile ranges in the long run but not have a significant impact in the short run. The study suggested that lowering the dependence of the transport sector on fossil fuels, more use of hydroelectricity, and stringent strategies to curb coal consumption would be helpful to reduce the positive influence of these variables on ecological footprints in the USA.
This study examined the influence of tail risks on global financial markets, which aids in better understanding of the emergence of COVID-19. This study looks at the global and Vietnamese stock markets impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to identify systemic emergencies. Risk dependent value (CoVaR) and Delta link VaR are two important tail-related risk indicators used in Conditional Bivariate Dynamic Correlation (DCC) (CoVaR). The empirical findings demonstrate that when COVID-19's worldwide spread widens, the volatility transmission of systemic risks across the global stock market and multiple exchanges shifts and becomes more relevant over time. At the time of COVID-19, the world industrial market was larger than the Vietnamese stock market, and the Vietnamese stock market posed a lesser danger to the global market. A closer examination of the link between the Vietnam value-at-risk (VaR) range index sample and the world stock index indicates a significant degree of downside risk integration in key monetary systems, particularly during the COVID-19 era. Our study findings may help regulators, politicians, and portfolio risk managers in Vietnam and worldwide during the unique moment of uncertainty created by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Purpose The discourse aimed to investigate green finance practices under the assumptions of several notable climate advisors and speculators in Asia and particularly in Southeast Asia. The study intrigues by considering financial specialists to vent government spending on green restoration plans leading toward green bankable venture openings for the public and private sector. This section distinguishes a few of the green fund components and approaches that can be joined by national and neighborhood governments, essentially in Southeast Asia, into their post-COVID-19 techniques, but are too valuable inputs for domestic commercial banks and private corporates. Design/methodology/approach It can be defined as a functional type for Cobb Douglas development. ARDL technology is a way of calculating complex forces at the classification level at long-term and short-term stages. This ARDL approach has many advantages and can be implemented when incorporated in level I (0) and level I first (1) with the original variable. Still, it offers robust ability to the outcomes and standardizes the lag, considering the number and sample size used. Pooled mean group (PMG) method is becoming a convenient technique for monitoring data over the period and a good approach for energy impact panels – growth ties for creating links between energy emissions and environmental sustainability and businesses in the nation. Findings There is a positive partnership between creativity and a sustainable world. Corporations are recommended to uphold the principles of CSR in the development process by introducing environmentally friendly advanced technologies. The main objectives of corporate social responsibility (CSR) are economic growth, environmental sustainability and social justice. Several programs have been established to expand businesses' responsibilities to improve their confessions in sustainable growth. SMEs are a primary source of production of innovative products and technologies. The key concerns of stakeholders and politicians in the new competitive business climate are the protection of environmental sustainability and social responsibility, recognizing factors driving economic development for SMEs. Originality/value During the COVID-19 era, the prime responsibility of pandemic confronting governments is to spend on help activities (that have been started in earlier phase) and recovery endeavors (yet to start in the situation). Therefore, the governments may devise policies to pool resources from commercial, private, public-private partnerships and other capital market sources. With rising hazard recognitions particularly emerging from at-threat income projections, governments ought to make the correct mechanisms and instruments that can perform this catalytic part of derisking and drawing in such capital. This too can be an opportunity for governments to enhance and execute such financial instruments that offer assistance, quicken their commitments to climate alter beneath the Paris Agreement and the sustainable development goals (SDGs), and thus “build back better” is being progressively voiced over the world.
The study aims to measure the impact of 4 market factors and Covid-19 including:S&P500 index, oil price, gold price and total number of infections on VN Index of Vietnamstock market (STC) in the period. Covid-19 pandemic period from January 2020 to June 2021using ARDL model. Research results show that in the long-term S&P500, oil and gold priceshave an impact on VN Index. Besides, the VN Index has a positive relationship with the S&P500index, oil price, and inversely with the gold price. The total number of infections does not affectthe VN Index because the stoppage condition is not met
The aim of the study is to estimate the nexus between energy insecurity and energy poverty with the role of climate change and other environmental concerns. We used DEA like WP methods and properties of MCDA, a most common form of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to estimate the nexus between constructs. This paper presents a measurement and analysis of G7 countries’ energy, economic, social, and environmental performance associated with energy poverty indexes. The study used the multiple, comprehensive, and relevant set of indicators, including energy economics and environmental consideration of energy poverty. The net energy consumption of al G7 economies is equal to 34 percent of the entire world along with the net estimate GDP score of around 50 percent. Using DEA modelling and estimation technique, our research presented valuable insights for readers, theorists and policy makers on energy, environment, energy poverty and climate change mitigation. For this reasons, all these indicators combined in a mathematical composite indicator to measure energy, economic, social, and environmental performance index (EPI). Results show that Canada has the highest EPII score, which shows that Canada’s capacity to deal with energy self-sufficiency, economic development, and environmental performance is greater than the other G7 countries. France and Italy rank second and third. Japan comes next with 0.50 EPI scores, while the USA has the lowest average EPI score environment vulnerable even though have higher economic development among the G7 group countries. We suggest a policy framework to strengthen the subject matter of the study.
Human resource management is the coordination of activities to find, develop, maintain, manage and facilitate human resources to operate through the organization, in orderto achieve the goals and direction of the organization. The important requirements of humanresource management is to find the right people, in the right quantity and at the right timewith conditions that satisfy both the business and the applicant. When choosing the rightcandidate for the right position, both individual and business benefit. Human resourcemanagement plays an essential role in the existence and development of enterprises. This isreflected in the factors that help a business operate well or not, succeed or fail, thanks to thepeople who are working at the enterprise with creativity, passion and love. Humans areinvaluable assets for businesses, as technical machines and material possessions can bebought and copied, but people cannot.
This paper investigates the effect of different categories of essential COVID-19 data from 2020 to 2021 towards stock price dynamics and options markets. It applied the hypothetical method in which investors develop depression based on the understanding suggested by various green finance divisions. Furthermore, additional elements like panic, sentiment, and social networking sites may impact the attitude, size, and direction of green finance, subsequently impacting the security prices. We created new emotion proxies based on five groups of information, namely COVID-19, marketplace, lockdown, banking sector, and government relief using Google search data. The results show that (1) if the proportional number of traders' conduct exceeds the stock market, the effect of sentimentality indexes on jump volatility is expected to change; (2) the volatility index component jump radically increases with the COVID-19 index, city and market lockdown index, and banking index; and (3) expanding the COVID-19 index gives rise to the stock market index. Moreover, all indexes decreased in jump volatility but only after 5 days. These findings comply with the hypotheses proposed by our model.
Nowadays, with the trend of globalization, with increasingly fierce competition, it isrequired that businesses that want to succeed must constantly improve their quality and improvethemselves to be able to stand firm in the market. In addition, people are being considered as aninvaluable asset, which is a fundamental factor that determines the existence and development ofan enterprise. In the context that society is gradually shifting to a knowledge-based economy, abusiness, even with rich and strong financial resources, becomes meaningless without the humanelement. Without effective employees, the organization cannot achieve its goals. Whenemployees are motivated to work, they will work very enthusiastically, passionately and that willcreate high labor productivity, contributing to the achievement of business and production goalsof the enterprise. This article analyzes in-depth the specific work motivation of staff in severalVietnamese enterprises.

The purpose of this study is to examine the association between debt covenants and accounting conservatism. The study uses the data of 180 non-financial listed companies on the Malaysian Stock Exchange during the period of 2008 to 2018. Our findings suggest that the increasing use of debt covenants automatically gears up the firm to focus on the timely recognition of loss in order to satisfy the debt market. Further, we also examine whether there is a relationship between those firms’ that are more dependent on debt covenants and timely recognition of losses. This study finds that as the firm depends more on covenants their emphasis on the timely recognition of economic loss increases to avoid potential debt market issues. We also discuss the transfer of controls and power to the bondholders in a situation of financial distress and the auditor’s responsibility to monitor the limitations of accounting conservatism.
Recent research has shown a huge impact of non-renewable energy (NRE) production on environmental health. In this context, this work analyzes the effects of GDP growth and long- and short-term consumption of renewable and non-renewable energy (RE and NRE, respectively) on carbon emission in BRICS and OECD economies. The quantile autoregressive distributed lag (QARDL) model was employed on the panel data from 1980 to 2016. Findings suggest a negative GDP-carbon emission correlation and a positive NRE-carbon emission correlation in the considered economies. Furthermore, carbon emission decreases with increase in gross capital formation, whereas trade openness does not have any significant effect on carbon emission. It has been determined that the application of the error correction method (ECM) has less effect on energy consumption as compared to the past levels and changes in energy consumption. In the long-term, a positive correlation of carbon emission and energy consumption is observed, whereas limited short-term effects of energy consumption on carbon emission are observed. Therefore, an RE-based energy production approach is recommended in the selected region for the future projects.
This study implies that diffuse ownership structure negatively affects firm performance. Our study based on empirical evidence found that the ownership structure (the outsider and the insider i.e. managerial ownership) favorably increase the firm performance. Our sample data was based on 200 Malaysian companies listed on the Malaysian stock exchange Bursa Malaysia. We used Tobin’s Q and accounting rate of return for firm performance measurement and compared it with important ownership structure and managerial ownership structure. Our results indicate that both ownership structures have a positive relationship with firm performance.
Using the data of 68 Malaysian listed firms, this study attempts to examine the relationship between accounting standards and the value relevance of financial statements. It also explores the difference in accounting treatment between accruals accounting and cash accounting, and evidence of supplies. This process confirmed that accruals accounting provided a more transparent picture of accounting information when compared with cash accounting aspect. Our findings are quite consistent with our hypothesis which clearly states that in economies wherein strong and secure protection mechanisms for shareholders exist, tend to apply the use of accruals accounting with confidence, assuming that the value relevance of accounting information would not be compromised at any stage.
We have attempted to investigate the impact of adopting the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on real earnings management (REM) in this study, along with a thorough examination to determine the relationship between IFRS and REM. The study is primarily based on 178 listed firms from different industrial sectors in Malaysia, wherein IFRS had finally been implemented in 2008. For more adequate estimations and requisite results, we have included data of eight years i.e., 4 years before the implementation of IFRS and 4 years after its implementation, in our sample. Our results showed positive association between IFRS and REM, accordingly, precisely suggesting that after the implementation of IFRS, these firms were found to be engaged more in less detectable REM, and also exhibiting quite a poor financial reporting quality apparently below international standards.
