In this paper, plane strain finite element method is used to calculate the mechanical properties for asphalt pavement up base layer with different material. This article calculates the bottom of up base layer and the top of surface layer stress changes when the up base layer uses Large Stone Asphalt Macadam and Cement Stabilized Aggregate respectively. This article also calculates the bottom of up base and the top of surface layer stress changes when crack appears in down base layer. The results show that the maximum stress on the bottom of up base layer with Large Stone Asphalt Macadam less than Cement Stabilized Aggregate, when the crack appear in down base layer. So the former structure crack resistance is better than the latter.
