After nearly 10 years observation of Shepherdia argentea introduced to middle-west of Jilin Province, this species had fully adapted to the local natural environment, and showed strong resistance, which successfully provide a new species for urban greening and desertification control in this area. The seed must be treated for 75d by mixed sand stratification before sowing to break the deep dormancy. It was half-lignification twig that could be used as cuttings. The rooting rate could reach 75% if the optimal light and humidity were maintained.
An environmental friendly modified urea-formaldehyde resin could be produced through the copolymerization reaction of urea-formaldehyde resin with keratin. The results showed that the optimum molar ratio was 1.31.Equal to 5% urea-formaldehyde resin of keratin was added after the third feeding of urea. The bonding strength of plywood which was made of modified urea-formaldehyde resin met the standard of GB/T9846—2004Ⅱ.The formaldehyde emission accorded with the EI grade of national standard.
We used the terminal bud and axillary bud of Elaeagnus commutata in current year as the explant, and MS as basic culture medium with different combinations of plant growth regulators. The result showed that the best culture medium for bud induction was MS + 6-BA3.0 mg ·L-1+ NAA3.0 mg ·L-1+ saccharose30 g·L-1+ agar4.5 g·L-1,for propagation was MS + 6-BA1.0 mg·L-1+ NAA1.0 mg·L-1+ saccharose30 g·L-1 + agar4.5 g·L-1 and for rooting was 1/2MS + NAA1.0 mg·L-1 + saccharose20 g·L-1 + agar4.5 g·L-1.The survival rate of transplantation was 85% if a mixture of rotten leaf soil: furnace ash(21) was used as soil substrate.
