Objective To explore relationship among leptin(LEP),adiponectin(ADIPO) and blood fat among adolescents,and to provide clue for early prevention on cardiovascular disease.Methods 73 pairs of obesity and normal adolescents were selected from children aged 13-14 years.Their LEP level in serum was measured by radio-immunity method,ADIPO was measured with ELISA,TG and TC were measured by enzyme colorimetry,HDL and LDL were measured by precipitation method.Then pairs analysis was taken.Results Obesity group's LEP and TG levels(24.011±6.831 μg/L,1.574±0.889 mmol/L) were higher than control group(12.542±6.565 μg/L,0.913±0.362 mmol/L)(P=0.00),but their ADIPO and HDL levels(4.074±2.493 μg/mL,1.115±0.256 mmol/L) were lower than control group(5.526±3.194 μg/mL,1.404±0.331 mmol/L)(P0.01).Girls' LEP level had positive correlation with LDL(r=0.246,P=0.043),and had negtive correlation with HDL(r=-0.438,P=0.000).Boys' LEP level showed negtive correlation with HDL(r=-0.353,P=0.002) and positive correlation with TG(r=0.518,P=0.000) and TC(r=0.284,P=0.012),their ADIPO was positively correlated with HDL(r=0.353,P=0.025).Conclusion There are metabolic disturbance in leptin,adiponectin and blood fat among obese adolescents.Compared with adiponectin,LEP is more closely correlated with blood fat.
Objective To examine the relation between fasting serum leptin(LEP) and fasting serum insulin(INS) in obesity adolescents,and to provide reference for children's obese prevention.Methods 73 pairs of obese and normal weight adolescents were recruited.Height,weight,fasting serum LEP and INS were measured.BMI was calculated.Results The average levels of serum LEP in male(20.35±6.88 μg/L) and female(28.21±3.65 μg/L) in obese groups were higher than those in control groups(8.10±4.28 μg/L for male,17.64±4.78 μg/L for female),and serum LEP levels in male groups were lower than that in female groups(P0.01).The average levels of INS in male and female(29.40±14.08 and 25.20±11.72 mIU/L) in obese groups were higher than that in control groups(17.23±7.13 and 16.85±5.08 mIU/L),and serum INS levels showed no difference between male groups and female groups(P0.05).After controlling BMI,LEP and INS indicated positive correlation in male both in obese and control groups,but not in female groups.Conclusion There are leptin resistance and insulin resistance in obese adolescents;the level of serum leptin is relative with sex,but serum insulin doesn't show sexual difference.No gender differences exist in correlation between serum leptin and serum INS in male.
Objective To examine the correlation between blood pressure and body mass index(BMI) and fasting serum insulin(INS) in obese adolescents.Methods Sixty-five obese and 87 normal weitht adolescents were recruited.Height,weight,systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),fasting serum INS were measured.BMI was caculated.Results The incidence rate(26.16%) of hypertension in the obese group was higher than that(2.35%) of in the control group(P=0.000).The relative risk of hypertention incidence was 11.377 in the obese group.The average level serum INS in obese group was higher than that of in control group(26.87±11.57 mIU/L,16.34±5.28 mIU/L;P=0.000).Both SBP and DBP showed no correlation with INS after controlling for BMI(P0.05).Both SBP and DBP showed positive correlation with BMI after controlling for INS(P0.05).Conclusion The risk of hypertension incidence is significantly higher in obese adolescents than that of in normal weight adolescents.Both systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure present positive correlation with body mass index and maybe have no relation with serum insulin.
