个人简介
My programme of work seeks to understand and prevent death and disability in early childhood, including identification of the compromised fetus in labour and methods of resuscitation, detection, mechanisms and treatment of perinatal encephalopathy, prevention of life threatening events in infancy, and improving care of children with endocrine disorders. My research has been of immediate impact, most notably the preclinical development of cerebral hypothermia as a treatment for post-asphyxial encephalopathy, development of randomized controlled trials, particularly the CoolCap trial, and its translation to routine clinical care.
