个人简介
Doctor professor Arminas Ragauskas is a head and founder of Health Telematics Science Institute at Kaunas University of Technology (Kaunas, Lithuania). He specializes in physiological and industrial measurements using ultrasound and semiconductor sensors. He published more than 100 scientific papers and registered more than 120 inventions in Soviet Union until restoration of independence of Lithuania in 1990. His main topics of interest in Soviet Union times were measurements and non-destructive diagnostics in aerospace industries and oceanography. He started to apply his exceptional competences in a field of medicine since 1991.
Currently his research topics of interests are as follows:
1. Brain physics and non-invasive physiological measurements.
2. Non-invasive diagnostics and monitoring systems for human brain.
3. Brain function impairment prevention systems during heart surgery.
4. Non-invasive systems for glaucoma diagnostic.
5. Clinical systems for hypotensive events’ prognosis.
6. Innovative methods for industrial measurement of fluid flow.
He invented and patented in the US, EU and other countries non-invasive methods and devices for non-invasive measurement of intracranial pressure value, monitoring of non-invasive pressure waves, for normal tension glaucoma diagnosing, for prediction of arterial hypotension, etc., etc.
He initiated a lot of clinical studies and technology development projects funded by European Commission, European Structural Funds, the US Department of the Army and Department of Defense, NASA, Lithuanian and Swiss governments, American, European and Lithuanian industries. He is co-founder of 3 Lithuanian and 1 American SME.
His 15 Doctoral Students were awarded PhD degrees. 5 PhD Students are currently studying under supervision of prof. A. Ragauskas (Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania)
