Bio
Anna-Maria Marshall, associate professor of sociology and law, joined the faculty of the Department of Sociology in 1999, earning campus-wide recognition for teaching every year. She currently teaches courses in criminology, the criminal justice system, and Law and Society.
A litigator from 1985-90 in the areas of employment and labor law, Professor Marshall published the book, Confronting Sexual Harassment: The Law and Politics of Everyday Life (Dartmouth Ashgate Publishing, 2005) and is a co-editor, with Scott Barclay and Mary Bernstein, of the book Queer Mobilizations: LGBT Activists Confront the Law (New York University Press, 2009). More recently, she is working on a research project about how law and policy shape farmers’ decisions about whether to adopt conservation practices.
