Dr. Muhammad Khusairy Bin Bakri is a specialist in materials/mechanical engineering. Khusairy obtained his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD (2018), Master of Engineering (by Research), MEng (2016), and Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineer), BEng (2014) from Swinburne University of Technology. Currently, Khusairy is working with Washington State University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with his priority toward developing research on wood composites, bio-composites, natural fiber, and biomaterials. Previously, Khusairy worked as a Research Fellow in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), with his research priority being towards materials science, polymer composites, and biomaterials. Previously, Khusairy joined in as a Higher Degree Researcher/Teaching Assistant from 2014 to 2018. During that time, Khusairy has taught a few subjects, such as computer-aided design (CAD), materials and process, material and manufacturing, and thermodynamics. Khusairy also assists his supervisors in monitoring undergraduate final year projects. Khusairy has published more than 140 publications, local and international articles. Khusairy is a co-editor for “Recycled Plastic Biocomposites” and main contributors for "Fundamentals and Recent Advances in Nanocomposites Based on Polymers and Nanocellulose," "Silica and Clay Dispersed Polymer Nanocomposites," and "Advances in Sustainable Polymer Composites" published in Woodhead Publishing/Elsevier, and also for "Bamboo Polymer Nanocomposites - Preparation for Sustainable Applications" and "Acacia Wood Bio-composites - Towards Bio-Sustainable of Environment" published in Springer. Khusairy also received many awards from local and international. Khusairy was registered and certified with a Graduate Engineer (GradEng) by the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) and a Professional Technologist (PTech) and Graduate Technologist (GradTech) by the Malaysian Board of Technologist (MBOT). Khusairy has collaborated with many local and international universities. either as a leader or group members of the research. His current Google Scholar h-index is 15, and the i-10 index is 19. He was previously working with Ranhill WorleyParsons Sdn. Bhd. It helped him be involved in many oil and gas projects related to two big companies, Shell and PCSB/Petronas on BLNG (Shell). The noteworthy projects included ST. JOSEPH (Shell), E11 (Shell), B1W (Shell), B23 (Shell), BAYAN (PCSB/Petronas), TEMANA (PCSB/Petronas), D18 (PCSB/Petronas), and TUKAU (PCSB/Petronas). He is always looking to improve his skills and knowledge.
