个人简介
Carlos Blanco-Alegre received the degree in environmental sciences from the University of León, León, Spain, the master’s degree in the area of natural risks from the Universidad de León in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree in air quality within the environmental science and technology program from the University of León in 2021. His academic background revolves around the environment.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the area of applied physics at the University of León. His research career has focused on the study of the interaction between atmospheric particulate matter (including bioaerosols) and precipitation, by analyzing the scavenging of rain and snow on aerosol particles from nanometers to micrometers. In addition, the effect of different raindrop sizes and precipitation intensities have been the aims of his studies, a topic that is scarcely found in the literature. During the last years, he has used different equipment related to pollutant sampling, such as the Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS), Passive Cavity Aerosol Spectrometer Probe (PCASP), Aethalometer, Aeroqual, Wolfsense, various air samplers, and disdrometer. So far, he has participated in 25 papers related to air quality in high-impact journals (19 in the first quartile). In addition, he has participated in 28 international conferences, with 69 abstracts presented (22 as first author). In addition, he has participated in the publication of two book chapters.
Dr. Blanco-Alegre has participated in six research projects. In addition, other merits related to research have been the Mariano Rodríguez Prize for Young Researchers in the area of Natural and Technical Sciences, awarded by the Carolina Rodríguez Foundation and the Award as a Young Researcher for the Interest of his Contribution to the Congress by the Spanish Meteorological Association.
