My main interest is to understand the brain neuroplasticity and inflammatory alterations associated with mental diseases and aging. In particular, I'm focused on animal models to investigate the pathophysiological mechanisms related to schizophrenia, depression, and addiction. Also, I’m interested in how the pharmacotherapy modulates these alterations to contribute to the development of more effective and safer drugs.
