个人简介
Hung Cao (S’06–M’12–SM’15) received the B.Sc. degree in electronics and telecommunications from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, in 2003, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2007 and 2012, respectively. He served as a Lecturer at the Vietnam Maritime University from 2003 to 2005. After his Ph.D. training, he was a Research Associate with the Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Southern California, from 2012 to 2013, and then at the Veterans Affairs Hospital and the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California at Los Angeles, Los Angeles, as a Scientist, from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, he was with ETS, Montreal, QC, Canada, as a Research Faculty Member. Since Fall 2015, he been an Assistant Professor of Electrical/Biomedical Engineering with the School of STEM, University of Washington (UW), Bothell campus. He was also an Affiliate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Seattle campus and a Principle Investigator with the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, UW Medicine, South Lake Union campus. He moved to the University of California at Irvine, Irvine, where he has been an Assistant Professor with the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department since 2018. His HERO Laboratory focuses on the applications of micro-biosensors and bioelectronics for health monitoring in humans and bio-studies in animal models.
Dr. Cao is one of the pioneers in utilizing flexible microelectronics to study heart disease in zebrafish. He was a recipient of the UW’s RRF Award in 2016, NSF CAREER Award in 2017, and one of the only two nominees under UW competing for the Moore’s Inventor Fellowship in 2017.
