个人简介
My core research is focused on understanding the environmental drivers and responses of water quality in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. This research has involved spatial and temporal analysis of groundwater, surface water, water quality and geomorphic data, and their relationships with climate, hydrology and land use. My efforts have been aimed at addressing the direct questions being requested by federal, state and local jurisdictions mandated to meet Chesapeake Bay TMDL goals. My passion is synthesizing complex scientific concepts and big data relating to water quality to a wide audience in order to have the greatest impact on society and the environment. I have a particular interest for hypothesis testing the watershed effectiveness of conservation practices and evaluating water quality impacts on rural drinking water supplies (e.g. Marcellus Shale gas development). I have also recently completed my PhD at Penn State advancing nutrient criteria development for Pennsylvania and other Bay states. Additionally, I have begun developing a better understanding of the status and trends in stream temperature across the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
