My current research interest is electron transfer in multi-heme proteins. Those multi-heme proteins are actively studied due to their long-range electron transfer behaviours, as a bio-inspired material: 'bio-nanowire'. Yet, there are still debates on the detailed underlying mechanism.
I used multi-scale modeling approaches to estimate electron flux through multi-heme proteins in the framework of non-adiabatic Marcus theory and chemical kinetics. With these approaches I am also actively collaborated with experimentalists who work on kinetic measurements of multi-heme protein mutants.
