Walter J. Pelaez

Dr. Walter J. Peláez, born in 1978 in Córdoba-Argentina, studied chemistry at the University of Córdoba, where he completed his PhD thesis in 2006. He performed some short research at the National Syncrotron Light Laboratory (Campinas - SP Brazil) in 2000, at the Institute of Chemistry, Chemical Research Center (Budapest-Hungary) in 2001 and at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medical University (Szeged-hungary) in 2003. In 2007, receive a Special Mention to the Quality of Doctoral Thesis, prize Awarded by the Argentina Society for Research in Organic Chemistry. He carried out his post-doctoral studies firstly at UNC (2007-2009) and later at University of Coimbra – Portugal (2011-2012). Dr. Peláez was appointed as Assistant researcher of the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET) in 2009. His research program aims at developing new approaches in the synthesis, spectroscopy, kinetics and photochemistry of heterocycles functionalized with fluorocarbooxygenate groups.
