Tractatus Philosophico-Touristicus

What I would like to talk to you about really cannot be called anything other than what it says on the title, i.e. tractatus philosophico-touristicus. In the paragraphs of the article, I have provided outlooks of the contemporary economic and tourist world scene about which I hope to be able to talk to you in the remaining available time. I start with an observation, which I’m sure we all share, that world tourism must be considered one of the key factors of the current as well as future global economy, more still in actual fact, of global culture, of global civilization. Together with the all-pervasive and – for the time being – all-enabling market for fossil fuels, tourism, say experts, is actually and potentially already the biggest industry in the world’s spectrum of economic activity.
