Computed tomographic findings in basilar invagination

Four patients, three with Paget's disease of the skull and one with plabasia, were evaluated by CT. The findings were to the conventional roentgenographic studies, CT accurately demonstrated the bony thickening of the occipital bone, narrowing of the foramen magnum and the invagination of the foramen magnum and the C1 and C2. Hydrocephalus secondary to basilar invagination was demonstrated in one patient. There was correlation between the degree of basalaz invagination and the degree of neurologic deficit.
