On Autonomic Computing Architectures

We discuss the key features of autonomic computing and their relationship to AI systems. We present a generic architecture for autonomic computing systems and propose a computational model based on communicatingau- tomata networks to implement such architectures. We illustrate this approach with an intelligent device discovery tool that analyzes the inventory and topology of large computer networks.
