Study on leaf anatomical structure indexes related to drought resistance of blueberry

In order to provide scientific basis for using leaf anatomical structure indexes to evaluate drought resistance of blueberry(Vaccinium spp.),and to provide a convenient and effective method for selecting drought-resistant cultivars of blueberry,7 leaf anatomical structure indexes related to drought resistance of 8 blueberry cultivars,including diameter of main leaf vein,leaf thickness,top epidermis thickness,thickness of top epidermis cutin,thickness of palisade tissue,leaf tissue structure tense ratio(CTR) and stoma density,were measured and analyzed.The variance analysis showed that differ-ences of each anatomical leaf structure index among the 8 cultivars were extremely significant.Then the single factor multiple comparisons between two cultivars were calculated.Leaf thickness,top epidermis thickness and thickness of top epidermis cutin were selected to represent drought resistance based on leaf anatomical structure.According to the 3 indexes,an order of drought resistance of the 8 cultivars was given by using subordinate function values analysis:Gardenblue Sunshineblue Tifblue Brightwell Misty Southmoon Brigitta Bluejay.
