Hirsutism: Investigation and Management

Hirsutism is a common disorder, which can present either to the primary care or hospital specialist. The appropriate management of the hirsute patient depends on the mode of presentation, the severity, and the psychologic and social distress often associated with hirsutism. This article seeks to outline an effective clinical approach to patients with hirsutism, plan investigations to ensure a sinister cause of hirsutism is not missed, and optimise treatment.
