Abstract

A search for the rare and forbidden neutral decays of eta-meson with the GAMS-4 pi setup has been performed. The charge-exchange reaction at 32.5 GeV/c was used as a source of 3.7 center dot 10(6) eta-mesons. At the 90% confidence level the following upper limits were obtained: BR(eta -> 3 gamma) < 1.6 center dot 10(-4), BR(eta -> 4 gamma) < 2.8 center dot 10(-4), BR(eta -> pi(0)pi(0)) < 3.5 center dot 10(-4); BR(eta -> pi(0)pi(0)gamma) < 1.7 center dot 10(-3), BR(eta -> pi(0)pi(0)gamma gamma) < 4.0 center dot 10(-3), BR(eta -> 3 pi(0)gamma) < 2.4 center dot 10(-4), BR(eta -> 4 pi(0)) < 2.0 center dot 10(-5).
