Theory for solute diffusion in solidifying alloy with complex interfacial geometry

摘要
A method to compute solute diffusion in binary alloy solidification using a statistical description for the interfacial geometry is presented. The approach is suitable for multiphase systems with extremely complex interface geometries. Numerical simulation shows that the theory works very well for pure diffusion as well as reaction-diffusion systems. The approach developed can be used in numerical studies of alloy solidification, including phase field modelling.
