Group-synchronized replenishment of inventory items

The policy of making the order cycle of an item an integer multiple of the lowest order cycle does not ensure that the order cycles are the same for all the items. Thus, the problem of order control is not much simplified as no two items may have identical order-schedules. In this paper, we extend the concept of order cycle synchronization to the groups of items such that the common order cycle of a group is made an integer multiple of the lowest group-order-cycle.
