The self-annihilation rate of metastable Mg atoms

The second-order rate coefficient for the self-quenching of Mg * (3s3p 3 P J ) has been measured using. The time-resolved, laser-induced resonance fluorescence technique- The total bimolecular self-annihilation rate constant was determined to lie in the range of (0.7–6) × 10 −11 cm 3 /s over the temperature range of 820–920 K.
