Abstract
Study Objective: To assess outcomes and pregnancy-related complications after laparoscopic myomectomy. Design: Retrospective analysis. Setting: Dongsan hospital and Keimyung university. Patients: 19 patients with at least one uterine myoma. Intervention: Laparoscopic myomectomy. Measurements and Main Results: We analyzed the clinical findings of 19 patients with uterine myoma who were treated by laparoscopic myomectomy. The average age of the 19 patients was 30.7 years(range 25-39years). The average size of the myomas removed was 5.13cm (range1.0-10.0).Table 1Patient characteristics: number, size, location of myomaMean age(year)30.7±4.1Mean number of myoma1.95±1.4Mean size(cm)5.13±1.7Location of myomaSubserosal3Intramural11mixed5 Open table in a new tab The average operating time was 70.5 minutes (range40-120min). The mean estimated postoperative hemoglobin loss was 0.85gm/dl (range0-2.3). The postoperative rate of intrauterine pregnancy was 73.7%. One patients had spontaneous abortion, and one patients had spontaneous uterine rupture during pregnancy, and 12 delivered viable term neonates. Five wemen had a vaginal delivery without complication and 7 had a cesarean section.Table 2Operative time. Blood loss. Hospital stay. We think that laparoscopic myomectomy ia valuable procedure for uterine myoma if patients selection as well as meticuous surgical technique was done. But our study was short of cases and the duration of follow-up. We suggest the more cases and longer duration of follow-up will be needed.
