Distinguishing Between Pathogenic and Non-Pathogenic Species of Entamoeba
LABORATORY MEDICINE(2004)
摘要
Entamoeba histolytica, the causative agent of amoebic dysentery, is morphologically identical to a relatively benign amoeba species, Entamoeba dispar. Diagnostic methods include microscopy antigen testing, serology testing, and PCR. A combination of methods should be evaluated according to the environment in which testing is conducted.
