The crystal structure of bis(μ-trichloroacetato-O,O′)-bis[dimethyltin(IV)] and its relationship to other (μ-acetato derivatives
CANADIAN JOURNAL OF CHEMISTRY-REVUE CANADIENNE DE CHIMIE(2011)
Abstract
The X-ray crystal structre of bis(μ-trichloroacetato-O,O′)-bis[dimethyltin(IV)] has been determined: R′ = 0.0518. The crystals were monoclinic, space group P2/c, a = 10.223(3) Å, b = 7.539(2) Å, c = 12.711(4) Å, β = 97.76(2) and Z = 2. The molecular structure consists of a planar (CH3)2Sn—Sn(CH3)2 unit with the tin atoms bridged asymmetrically by two trichloroacetato groups to give each tin atom five coordination.
