A fast pulse height analysis system with gain stabilisation for nuclear process control instruments

A microprocessor controlled pulse height analysis and counting system for use in nuclear on-line process control instruments and in the laboratory is described. Count rates of 200 000/s from NaI(Tl) scintillation detectors can be measured. A high performance software controlled gain stabiliser with a response time of less than a second and a gain stability of better than 0.1% is incorporated.
