H-1 NMR spectra were determined for D2O solutions of the triblock copolymer Synperonic F87 as a function of temperature, over the range 4-44 degrees C. The data show that aggregation begins at a lower temperature than micellisation, involving primarily the methylene groups of the EO regions of the polymer and the methyl groups of the PO regions. The data further show that when the aggregates disappear at higher temperatures, leaving only micelles, the methylene groups of the PO regions, in particular, undergo a major change of state.
