Time‐Limited Psychosocial Treatment for Specific Panic Disorders and Agoraphobia

almost half of those afflicted with these problems do not receive treatment for them. Additionally, there is no singular most effective and appropriate treatment for panic disorders and agoraphobia, the use of psychotropic medications having met with mixed success. This article reviews pertinent literature on this topic and presents an empirically based, nonpharmacological brief treatment model that has been shown to be effective in treating these disorders.
