摘要
Normal values for glucose, lactate, and protein in cerebrospinal fluid have been established and the relationships among them studied. Normal pro- tein concentration is related to age. Glucose and lactate values are corre- lated with each other and with sex and age. By the technique of pattern ap- preciation, these estimations provide a useful confirmatory test for cere- brovascular accidents and for differentiating intracranial hemorrhage from other types of accident and from bloody spinal fluid taps, and they have considerable prognostic value in assessing the milder cases. They also have a restricted value in certain other conditions. We have investigated this point and studied the relationships among these constituents and their variation in cerebrovascular and other diseases.
