The hyperon-nucleon interaction and the F/(F + D) ratio

The low energy Σ-p interactions are considered, using a potential model. A good fit with the experimental data is obtained for the SU(6) prediction, F/(F+D) ≃ 0.4. A sizable polarization in the reaction Σ-p → Λn at these low energies is predicted.
