摘要
The design of splined joints used in industrial applications frequently results in maximum flank pressure. This often leads to overdimensioning and in certain cases to failure of the shaft-hub connection. The existing german standard DIN 5466 for the calculation of load capacity, when coupled with increasing power densities and weight savings, is an unsatisfactory basis for dimensioning. The principles behind the calculations for the new draft standard, developed by the Institut mr Maschinenwesen TU Clausthal, are presented here as well as the main geometric parameters which have an influence: the number of teeth and the width of the splined joint.
